Free Wi-Fi can be found everywhere today. You can make a free hotspot too, but if you fail to set a bandwidth cap, it will lead to a nonfunctional hotspot. An average iPad user consumes several times more bandwidth than the average Laptop user.
If data transfer is not controlled and limited, some customers may consume all your bandwidth, and leave other customers unable to connect or have decent browsing experience.
Antamedia Cloud WiFi efficiently limits both download and upload rates for each customer connected to your network, limits bandwidth quota (maximum data transfer), or sets limits on a daily level.
Free Wi-Fi access can be used as a trial of your services. Once the customers are convinced, they can upgrade to a higher-level account.
Antamedia Cloud WiFi helps you offer Free WiFi access to customers in your Hotel, Restaurant, Cafe, etc. Upon accessing your hotspot, the customer is automatically redirected to your self-branded Splash page.
To get the Free Internet access, customer may click a Connect button, enter a required details ( like name, email, phone, etc)
Cloud WiFi Free access models
3 different free access models can be combined with paid signups:
• Free access with a click-through
• Free access with a keyword
• Free access to collect customer data
Free access with a keyword requires the setup of a keyword for access.
Cloud WiFi Free access setup
To configure Cloud WiFi Free access, please follow these steps:
1. Add the Free Access method
In the Cloud WiFi admin account, open the Splash page for your WiFi location
In the login methods area, click the + button and choose Free Access
By default, it is set to Free access with click-through.
2. Choose the Free Access type
Click-through
No extra configuration required
Keyword
Enter the keyword users must type to get online
Collect customer data
Select which fields to collect and mark any as required
Cloud WiFi Data Collect
To enable Free access with collecting customer data method, login to Cloud WiFi account, open the Splash page for the target WiFi location.
Click + and select Free Access.
In Settings, choose Free access with collecting customer data, then Save.
Configure the form fields
In the Settings dialog window, you will see two toggles for each field:
Left toggle turns the field on or off
Right toggle marks it Required or optional
Typical fields you can collect: first name, last name, email, phone, address details, birthday, gender.
You also have Custom 1–3 for business-specific data, like Flight number.
These values are stored with the user and can be used in campaigns later.
