How to install HotSpot software ?
1. Start HotSpot software installer.
2. Accept licence agreements and press Next button.
3. Choose Express or Custom installation.
4. Reboot computer after HotSpot software and Database Server are installed and configured.
How to uninstall HotSpot software ?
1. Close HotSpot software and Database Server.
2. Start HotSpot installer.
3. Accept licence agreements and press Next button.
4. Press Uninstall button.
5. Press on Uninstall button for the Antamedia HotSpot and for the Database Server.
6. In the new popup menu with the question "Uninstall Antamedia HotSpot and delete database ?". Choose "Yes".
7. To complete uninstallation of the software please reboot server computer.
How to setup the network ?
Which port needs to be opened for the HotSpot software ?
HotSpot software uses port 80. Be sure that port 80 is free and not used by any other software.
If You get the message 'Error: port 80 is use', please close application which uses port 80 before start of the HotSpot software.
To find which software uses port 80 in command promt (cmd.exe) use command netstat -abn
If You use Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 please disable IIS server.
Network interface configuration
In the HotSpot software - Setup - Network - Network Setup page select network interface.
That is network card on the server computer used for connection with the client computers.
In IP address field will be automatically loaded IP address of this network card. Save settings.
How to Start Bandwidth control ?
Press Start button located in the HotSpot software - Setup - Network - Network Setup page.
Auto start Bandwidth control
Select option "Autostart HotSpot for selected interface" in the HotSpot software - Setup - Network - Network Setup page.
HotSpot will start automatically bandwidth control on the software starts
How to Stop Bandwidth control ?
Press Stop button located in the HotSpot software - Setup - Network - Network Setup page.
How to limit number of connected users to the HotSpot ?
Set "Maximum connections" option located in the HotSpot software - Setup - Network - Network Setup page.
How to logout computer automatically after certain period of inactivity ?
First configure after how much time computer will be disconnected from the internet.
Option is located in the HotSpot software - Setup - Network page. By default inactivity logout is set to 180 seconds.

Second step is to enable "Inactivity logout" option to the account.
Choose the account from HotSpot software - Accounts page and enable "Inactivity timeout" option from Manage Account page.
How to install HotSpot driver in Vista operation system
Go to Windows Control Panel - User Accounts and disable User Account Control (UAC). Reboot computer and install HotSpot software.
How to login as Administrator to the HotSpot software ?
In the HotSpot software startup login page choose Administrator as username and type Administrator password.
Press Enter key on the keyboard or Login button on the login page.
Please note that default Administrator password is blank.
How to setup Administrator password ?
Specify Administrator password in the HotSpot software - Setup - Employee page. Don't forget to Save the password.
How to login with the employee account to the HotSpot software ?
In the HotSpot software startup login page choose Employee username and type employees password.
Press Enter key on the keyboard or Login button on the login page.
How to create Empoloyee account ?
Antamedia HotSpot supports the employee accounts with different access rights: Supervisor, Manager, Operator, Technician etc and this is defined by type field.
To create new employee account go to HotSpot Setup - Employee page.
1. Type Username and Password of your employee
2. Choose Type of employee account
3. Fill in other optional details, like address, city, birthday, email, mobile number, document ID
4. Select Active to allow login in the HotSpot
5. Press Save button to store a new employee in database

To delete employee account from the list, please select the account with left mouse click and press Remove button.
How to create login accounts for the customers ?
Option to create login accounts for the customers is located in the HotSpot software - Accounts - Generate Accounts panel.

1. Type 10 to generate 10 accounts
2. Select User Prepaid
3. Choose desired price plan
4. Optionally select discount
5. Enable Print if you want to print account on paper
6. Click on Generate button
7. Click on Save button and accounts will be stored in a database
How to find the account ?
The list of created accounts is located in the HotSpot software - Accounts page. After some period the list of the account becomes really huge and it's really hard to find some account.

Use 'Search' option to find the account much easily. Just type account username in the 'Search' field.
How to print the list of created accounts ?
Complete list of the accounts with the current status (left time, left quota, expiration date etc.) can be printed on the paper.
Option 'Print' is located in the HotSpot software Setup - Database - Print and Export page
How to setup Account prices ?
Account prices are defined by the pricing plans. Each pricing plan is defined with: the price, time, bandwidth, download, upload speed etc. New pricing plan can be configured in HotSpot Setup - Price - Price Plans page. Specify the conditions of the pricing plan and add it in the list. Here's the explanation:

. 'Time' - Time available for the Internet usage. It's measured in seconds
. 'Unlimited Time' - Enable this option if you do not wish to limit users by time. It's useful if you charge users by bandwidth or users pay monthly fees
. 'Price' - Cost of selected price plan. If tax is not specified, this is what customer pays
. 'Description' - Describe the plan so you can find it easily when generate accounts
. 'Price plan is enabled' - If selected price plan is active and can be used for account generating
. 'Accounts expires in _ days from first usage' - Number of days in which will an account expire from the first login. For example, if you set to 10 days, and a user will not be able to login on 11th day from first login
. 'Accounts expires in _ days from last usage' - Number of days in which will an account expire from the last login. For example, if you set to 10 days, and a user does not login in the next 11 days, the account will expire
. 'Limit daily time usage' - Total time available for the Internet usage on daily basis. When all day time is used, a user can login on the next day
. 'Limit number of daily logins' - Limit how many times user can login on daily basis
. 'Bandwidth quota' - Total bandwidth traffic available to a user for downloading or uploading. It's usually displayed MB, GB or TB depending on value. Quota is not a sum of download and upload traffic. If you define 100 GB as quota, a user can download and upload maximum of 100 GB, whichever comes first.
. 'Bandwidth quota daily limit' - Total bandwidth traffic available to user on daily basis. When all daily quota is used, a user can login on the next day
. 'Download' - Download rate can be adjusted for each user separately
. 'Upload' - Upload rate can be adjusted for each user separately
How to setup the currency ?
Option to set the 'Currency' used in Your country is located in the HotSpot software - Setup - Price - Price Plans page.
How to calculate tax with the price ?
Option to enable and configure taxes is located in the HotSpot software - Setup - Prices - Taxes page.
You can setup 3 different taxes with desired name (VAT, GST...) and percent with 3 decimals.
For more complex tax systems you can choose tax on tax options.
How can I customize printer receipt ?
All receipt customization options are located in the HotSpot software - Setup - Options - Print Options page.
On this page You can change: title, receipt header and footer text, change the logo, and determine if you want printed time and date when account is sold.
How can I select which printer to use for printing of the receipts ?
In the case You have more that one printer in the network please select to use option "Show Print dialog" at HotSpot Setup - Options - Print options page.
How to setup 'PayPal web site payments pro' payment gateway ?
Website Payments Pro payment is completed from our software and there is no need to transfer customer to PayPal site.
Processing is faster but this option requires PayPal account with Payments Pro option enabled which is usually charged monthly by PayPal.

In the HotSpot software - Setup - Credit Cards - Gateway page select PayPal as payment processing gateway.
Please type Paypal API username, API password and API Certificate (PEM) path on hard drive. Check option 'Web site payments pro'

Please note that PayPal account with website payments pro option enabled can be used only in USA.
How to setup 'PayPal express checkout' payment gateway ?
Express Checkout payment is initiated on HotSpot pages and completed on PayPal site. Customer can use existing PayPal account for payment which significantly simplifies order, and credit card payment is available for new customers who doesn't have PayPal account.

In the HotSpot software - Setup - Credit Cards - Gateway page select PayPal as payment processing gateway.
Please type Paypal API username, API password and API Certificate (PEM) path on hard drive. Check option 'Express Checkout'.
Please configure IP address for PayPal response and Port where internal web server will be activated to receive processing result message from PayPal.

After setting up, please check Host Whitelist page and make sure that following addresses are listed :
api.paypal.com
paypal.com
www.paypal.com
www.paypalobjects.com
paypalssl.doubleclick.net
and HotSpot public IP

If you are not getting PayPal pages, or a response is very slow, please check at PayPal support what are the current requirements for host whitelisting since sometimes change the servers involved in payment processing.
Can I use PayPal Express Checkout in my country ?

How to obtain correct PayPal certificate file ?
1. Login to merchant account
2. Click on Profile
3. Under Account Information, click on API Access
4. Click on Request API Credentials
5. Select API SSL client-side certificate
6. Select option "I agree to the API Certificate Terms of Use", click on Submit
7. You will get API Username and API Password. Type it in Antamedia HotSpot software
8. On the same page, please click on Download Certificate button
9. Save it in the same folder where software is installed. Make sure that correct path and name is written in certificate path.
How to setup Moneris e-Select Plus payment gateway
In the HotSpot software - Setup - Credit Cards - Gateway page select Moneris e-Select from the dropdown menu.
Place your generated id's noted from moneris in the provided fields.
Merchant login = DirectPost ID (ps_store_id): and Merchant Password = DirectPost Key (hpp_key):
How to obtain required merchant account details from Moneris e-Select Plus payment gateway
Log into your Moneris e-Select plus account. Click on Admin. Click on DirectPost Config. Generate a New Configuration.

How to setup Optimal payment gateway
In the HotSpot software - Setup - Credit Cards - Gateway page select Optimal Payments gateway from the dropdown menu.
Set Mearchant login and password. Check add special fields and type account Merchant Account Number provided by Optimal Payments gateway
Which credit card payment gateways are supported by HotSpot software ?

How to see actions and events initiated by HotSpot users, operator or software (login, logout etc...)
HotSpot Log is located in the HotSPot software Statistics - Log page.
Log shows the following details:
1. Level
2. Date and time
3. Description
4. Action (Login, Logout, Modify, Start, Stop, Error, Generate, Add, Del, New)
5. Account
6. IP address
7. MAC address
To display all the log items for specified time period, please select starting and ending date in the From and To fields and press Show button. If you like to show log for specific computer, please enter its account, IP or MAC address and press Show button.
How to see all charged bills ?
The list of all charged bills with date and time of charge, is available in the HotSpot software Statistics - Bills page.
Bill database can be filtered so You can easily get report for specified time period.
How to create backup the database ?
To create HotSpot software database backup close software and go to C:\Antamedia\DBServer folder.
Copy C:\Antamedia\DBServer\Database folder to some other location.
How to restore old database ?
By default database is stored in c:\Antamedia\HotSpot\Database folder. Close HotSpot software and copy backup Database folder to c:\Antamedia\HotSpot folder.
How does customer 'login' to the client computer ?
As soon as customer connects to your Access Point or switch (in case of wired connectivity) and types any web URL address, login page will be displayed in the web browser.
Login page contains username and password fields, login button, 'Open Infobox' option, link for help page, and sign up link if you have a license with credit card processing option.
To proceed, customer need to type username and password and to press Login button.
How does customer logout from the internet ?
When the customer want to finish the session, just in the web browser address bar need to type 'Logout'
How does customer can see the current status of the account ?
If Your customer wants get the information about left time and bandwidth quota on the account, just in web browser address bar type 'Info'.
How to modify the pages shown on the client computers (login, welcome, help etc.) ?
Option to modify the look of the pages is located in the HotSpot software - Setup - Pages - Customize page. In the combobox select page You want to modify. Note that pages are in *.htm format.
All of this pages by default are located in the C:\Antamedia\HotSpot\Pages folder. This pages can be modified also in some web design software (for example Dreamweaver).
How to change the logo on the login page ?
Logo shown on the login page by default is located in the C:\Antamedia\HotSpot\www\Themes\Default folder. It's named DefaultLogo.jpg.
Replace default logo with Your own. Logo should be created in 440x113 pixel *.jpg format and rename it to DefaultLogo to be loaded automatically
How does customer can see the current status of the account ?
If Your customer wants get the information about left time and bandwidth quota on the account, just in web browser address bar type 'Info'.
How to limit the account to connect always from the same client computer ?
Go to the HotSpot - Accounts - 'choose the account' - Expiry & Limits page. Select option `Fixed MAC address - Customer have to use the same computer` and add MAC address of the client computer.
Press on Save Changes button.
How to use the same account on few computers ?
Go to the HotSpot - Accounts - 'choose the account' - Expiry & Limits page. Select option `Multilogin with maximum __ simulatneous logins` and set number of allowed simultaneous logins.
Press on Save Changes button.
How to connect HotSpot servers and share account database ?
Antamedia Database Server stores the data from Antamedia software (customers accounts, pricing plans, bills, statistics, reports, action log etc.). Database Server should be installed from HotSpot Installer.
In order to connect multiple HotSpots you have to:
1. Install Database Server on a HotSpot gateway computer with Public IP address (accessible from Internet). This way, all HotSpots will be able to connect to one Database Server.
2. On every HotSpot, please configure Database IP address in HotSpot - Setup - Database - Settings page. IP which you should enter is the public IP address.
3. Make sure that firewalls are not blocking communication between HotSpots and Database Server.
How to allow access to the internet from the client computer without authentication ?
Antamedia HotSpot software gives You ability to specify client computers which should pass through the hotspot without authentification.
Just specify MAC address of the client computer in the HotSpot software - Setup - Whitelists - MAC Whitelists page.
How to allow access to the internet from the client computers without charge ?
Free access option allow access to the Internet without charge using specified login keyword. By default login keyword is Free. If anyone type 'FREE' as username will be loged to the internet without charge. Access to the internet can be limited (time, bandwidth quota, upload and upload speed etc.).
HotSpot software provide You wide range of Free Access types. Option is located in the HotSpot software - Setup - Free Access page.
How to allow access to certain web sites without authentication ?
In the HotSpot - Setup - Whitelist - Host Whitelist page you can see two different ways to add website in the whitelist:
`Add host IP to whitelist` if you know website IP address (like 100.200.50.1)
`Add host URL to whitelist` if you know website URL address (like www.mywebsite.com)
Press Add button to add host IP or host name, or press Remove button to remove host IP or URL address selected in the whitelist. When you finish, please press Save button.
How can I track visited URL addresses ?
Enable URL tracking option in the HotSpot software - Setup - URL - URL Tracking page.
By default, HotSpot will track *.htm, *.html, *.asp, *.php, *.txt files, but you can modify the list or add new extensions. We do not recommend tracking graphic files (like *.jpg, *.gif ...) since this significantly increases the processing. Using URL tracking you can also track the web pages which include specified keyword.
After enabling or disabling URL tracking option Antamedia HotSpot should be restarted.
How to can I block access to specified URL addresses ?
Antamedia HotSpot software have ability to track and block unwanted web sites. Web sites will be automatically blocked if specified keywords appear in url address. On this way you can prevent access to porn, warez and other web sites that do not comply with your usage terms. Please specify keywords in the HotSpot software - Setup - URL - URL Filtering page.

Blocking a website with Antamedia HotSpot is very simple task. Feature is located in HotSpot - Setup - Filtering page.
To block the desired website, please enter URL address in the Block website URL field and press Add URL button.
