Knowledge Base for Antamedia HotSpot

1.Start HotSpot software installer.
2.Accept licence agreements and press Next button.
3.Choose Install Path. Default install path is C:\Antamedia\HotSpot\
4.Use Install button to install HotSpot software.
5.Installation requires server computer restart. Please use Reboot button from the installer.

1.close HotSpot software.
2.Start HotSpot installer.
3.Accept licence agreements and press Next button.
4.Press Uninstall button.
5.In the new popup menu with the question "Uninstall Antamedia HotSpot and delete database ?". Choose "Yes".
6.To complete uninstallation of the software please restart the server computer.

HotSpot software uses port 80. Be sure that port 80 is free and not used by any other software.
If You get the message 'Error: port 80 is use', please close application which uses port 80 before start of the HotSpot software.
To find which software uses port 80 in command promt (cmd.exe) use command netstat -abn
If You use Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 please disable IIS server.

In the HotSpot software - Setup - Network page select network interface.
That is network card on the server computer used for connection with the client computers.
In Server IP field type IP address of this network card. Save settings.

Press Start button located in the HotSpot software - Setup - Network page.

Select option "Autostart HotSpot for selected interface" in the HotSpot software - Setup - Network page.
HotSpot will start automatically bandwidth control on the software starts

Press Stop button located in the HotSpot software - Setup - Network page.

Set "Maximum connections" option located in the HotSpot software - Setup - Network page.

First configure after how much time computer will be disconnected from the internet.
Option is located in the HotSpot software - Setup - Network page. By default inactivity logout is set to 180 seconds.

Second step is to enable "Inactivity logout" option to the account.
Choose the account from HotSpot software - Accounts page and enable "Inactivity timeout" option.

Please go to the installation folder which contains these files: ndisrd.inf, ndisrd_m.inf and ndisrd.sys.
On the desktop, right-click the My Network Places icon and choose Properties.
Right-click on the relevant Local Area Connection icon and choose Properties.
Click Install, then Service, then Add, then Have Disk. Browse to the drive/directory containing the files listed above. Click OK.
This should show "Antamedia Driver" in a list of Network Services. Highlight this and click OK.
This should install the Antamedia HotSpot driver.
Click OK or Yes each time the system prompts with a warning regarding installation of unsigned files.
Restart computer and HotSpot should correctly see network connections.

In the HotSpot software startup login page choose Administrator as username and type Administrator password.
Press Enter key on the keyboard or Login button on the login page.
Please note that default Administrator password is blank.

Specify Administrator password in the HotSpot software - Setup - Password page. Don't forget to Save the password.

In the HotSpot software startup login page choose Employee username and type employees password.
Press Enter key on the keyboard or Login button on the login page.

Specify Employee username and the password in the HotSpot software - Passwords page.
Use Add button to add the employee to the list and Save settings.
To remove employee from the list, select the Employee username and press Remove button.

Option to create login accounts for the customers is located in the HotSpot software - Accounts - Generate page.

1. Select how many accounts you want to generate in the 'Number Of Accounts' field.
2. Choose the 'Pricing Plan'
3. Type 'Prefix for the username'
4. Select the lenght of the password in the 'Password chars' field.
5. Press 'Generate code' button.
6. Press 'Save' button and accounts will be stored in a database.

Note that bandwidth quota, download, upload etc. are specified by the pricing plan.

The list of created accounts is located in the HotSpot software - Accounts page. After some period the list of the account becomes really huge and it's really hard to find some account.

Use 'Find' option to find the account much easily. Just type account username in the 'Find' field.

Complete list of the accounts with the current status (left time, left quota, expiration date etc.) can be printed on the paper.
Option 'Print Accounts' is located in the HotSpot software - Database - Accounts page

Account prices are defined by the pricing plans. Each pricing plan is defined with: the price, time, bandwidth, download, upload speed etc. New pricing plan can be configured in the HotSpot software - Pricing - Pricing Plans page. Specify the conditions of the pricing plan and add it in the list. Here's the explanation:

. 'Price' - Set the price of the plan
. 'Time' - Set internet access time
. 'Quota (MB)' - Limit bandwidth quota
. 'Download' - Limit download speed in kb/s
. 'Upload' - Limit upload speed in kb/s
. 'Days xpire' - Set how many days is valid account
. 'Description' - Describe the plan so you can find it easily when generate accounts
. 'Daily time' - Limit internet access time per day.
. 'Daily quota' - Limit bandwidth quota per day.

Option to set the 'Currency' used in Your country is located in the HotSpot software - Setup - Pricing plans page.

Option to enable and configure taxes is located in the HotSpot software - Setup - Prices - Taxes page.
You can setup 3 different taxes with desired name (VAT, GST...) and percent with 3 decimals.
For more complex tax systems you can choose tax on tax options.

All receipt customization options are located in the HotSpot software - Setup - Prices - Receipt page.
On this page You can change: title, receipt header and footer text, change the logo, and determine if you want printed time and date when account is sold.

In the case You have more that one printer in the network please select which printer You want to use for printing of the receipts.
Please select the printer in "Choose receipt printer" combobox located in the HotSpot software - Setup - Prices - Receipt page.

Set option "POS printer compatibility mode" located in the HotSpot software - Setup - Prices - Receipt page.
On the same page select Your POS printer in the "Choose receipt printer" combobox.

Website Payments Pro payment is completed from our software and there is no need to transfer customer to PayPal site.
Processing is faster but this option requires PayPal account with Payments Pro option enabled which is usually charged monthly by PayPal.

In the HotSpot software - Setup - Credit Cards - Gateway page select PayPal as payment processing gateway.
Please type Paypal API username, API password and API Certificate (PEM) path on hard drive. Check option 'Web site payments pro'

Please note that PayPal account with website payments pro option enabled can be used only in USA.

Express Checkout payment is initiated on HotSpot pages and completed on PayPal site. Customer can use existing PayPal account for payment which significantly simplifies order, and credit card payment is available for new customers who doesn't have PayPal account.

In the HotSpot software - Setup - Credit Cards - Gateway page select PayPal as payment processing gateway.
Please type Paypal API username, API password and API Certificate (PEM) path on hard drive. Check option 'Express Checkout'.
In 'External IP address' type your public IP address and select port used for the communication with the PayPal.

In the HotSpot software - Setup - Whitelist - Site Whitelist page add followinf URL addresses:

paypal.com
www.paypal.com
www.paypalobjects.com
paypalssl.doubleclick.net
and HotSpot public IP

1. Login to merchant account
2. Click on Profile
3. Under Account Information, click on API Access
4. Click on Request API Credentials
5. Select API SSL client-side certificate
6. Select option "I agree to the API Certificate Terms of Use", click on Submit
7. You will get API Username and API Password. Type it in Antamedia HotSpot software
8. On the same page, please click on Download Certificate button
9. Save it in the same folder where software is installed. Make sure that correct path and name is written in certificate path.

In the HotSpot software - Setup - Credit Cards - Gateway page select Moneris e-Select from the dropdown menu.
Place your generated id's noted from moneris in the provided fields.
Merchant login = DirectPost ID (ps_store_id): and Merchant Password = DirectPost Key (hpp_key):

Log into your Moneris e-Select plus account. Click on Admin. Click on DirectPost Config. Generate a New Configuration.

In the HotSpot software - Setup - Credit Cards - Gateway page select Optimal Payments gateway from the dropdown menu.
Set Mearchant login and password. Check add special fields and type account Merchant Account Number provided by Optimal Payments gateway

Action Log database option is located in the HotSPot software - Statistics - Action Log page.
To see all actions for Specified account, type username or client computer IP or MAC address and press Show button.
Action Log database can be filtered per time period (today, yesterday, this week etc.) and type of the action (start, stop, login, logout, new account etc.)

The list of all charged bills with date and time of charge, is available in the HotSpot software - Statistics - Reports page.
Bill database can be filtered so You can easily get report for specified time period.

Option to export bill database is located in the HotSpot software - Statistics - Reports page.
Bill database can be exported in *.csv, *.txt, *.pdf or *.html format

Option to 'Archive database' is located in the HotSPot software - Setup - Database - Main page.
Press Archive Database and choose location on the hard disk where to save the database.
Archived database will be saved in the *.zip format.

Other way to archive the database is to close the HotSpot software and copy database folder.

By default database is stored in c:\Antamedia\HotSpot\Database folder.

If database is archived in *.zip format, first extract the database and then copy database files in c:\Antamedia\HotSpot\Database folder.

As soon as customer connects to your Access Point, or switch in case of wired connectivity) and types any web URL address, login page will be displayed in the web browser.
Login page contains username and password fields, login button, 'Open Infobox' option, link for help page, and sign up link if you have a license with credit card processing option.
To proceed, customer need to type username and password and to press Login button.

When the customer want to finish the session, just in the web browser address bar need to type 'Logout'

If Your customer wants get the information about left time and bandwidth quota on the account, just in web browser address bar type 'Info'.

Option to modify the look of the pages is located in the HotSpot software - Setup - Pages - Customize page. In the combobox select page You want to modify. Note that pages are in *.html format.
All of this pages by default are located in the c:\Antamedia\HotSpot\Pages folder. This pages can be modified also in some web deign software (for example dreamweaver).

Logo shown on the login page by default is located in the C:\Antamedia\HotSpot\www\ folder. It's named HotSpot.jpg.
Logo Can be changed from the HotSpot software - Setup - Pages - Quick Change page. Logo should be created in *.jpg format.

If Your customer wants get the information about left time and bandwidth quota on the account, just in web browser address bar type 'Info'.

Custom login option enables different login pages for different computer. Example: If your customer login to your HotSpot from 192.168.0.11 IP address, in customers web browser will be loaded customlogin.htm page. If customer login to your HotSpot from 192.168.0.12 IP address, in web browser will be loaded customlogin2.htm page.

Option to configure IP/MAC addresses of the customers computers and the login pages is located in the HotSpot software - Setup - Pages - Custom Login page.

Add MAC address of the client computer to the HotSpot - Accounts - 'choose the account' - Account details page.
In the HotSpot software - Setup - Options - Misc Options page set option "Verify MAC address and enable login only if it's done from the same computer".

Option to "Enable multiple logins with the same account" is located in the HotSpot software - Setup - Options - Misc Options page.

DHCP server option assigns IP addresses to the client computers instead of your access point. Option is located in the HotSpot software - Setup - Options DHCP Server page.Please configure Subnet Mask and DNS addresses.

DHCP can be used to provide fixed IP addresses to specific MAC addresses. For example when specific computer requires always the same IP.

Also, Excluded IPs option can be used to disable assigning of specific IPs. For example if you want to reserve IPs in range 192.168.0.2 - 192.168.0.10 for computer in your cafe which are used by Internet Caffe software

Antamedia Database Server helps you to connect multiple Antamedia HotSpots and share customer accounts.
It should not be used for single HotSpot installations. DBServer can be installed on any computer connected to the Internet or it can run on one of your HotSpot servers.
HotSpot installer comes with an option to install Database Server.To connect multiple Antamedia HotSpots to the same DBServer, please go to HotSpot-Setup-Options-Remote login page after installation.

1. Enable remote database login option
2. Configure IP address of Your database server
3. Configure compression of database. Database compression depend of Internet connection. In the case of slower internet connection configure higher compression.
4. Set database server username and passwords. Preconfigured account is: user: hotspot, pass: admin
5. Save remote database login setup configuration

Antamedia HotSpot software gives You ability to specify client computers which should pass through the hotspot without authentification.
Just specify MAC address of the client computer in the HotSpot software - Setup - Whitelists - MAC Whitelists page.

Free access option allow access to the Internet without charge using specified login keyword. By default login keyword is Free. If anyone type 'FREE' as username will be loged to the internet without charge. Access to the internet can be limited (time, bandwidth quota, upload and upload speed etc.).
Option is located in the HotSpot software - Setup - Options Free Access page

Antamedia HotSpot software gives you ability to specify web sites which can be accessed by customers without authentification.
Option can be used for advertising purposes. Option is located in the HotSpot software - Setup - Whitelists - Site Whiteliests page.
Just specify host names only and IP addresses will be filled automatically after pressing on Add button.

Enable URL tracking option in the HotSpot software - Setup - Filtering - URL Fileting page.
Every visited web site address will be stored in text (*.txt) file, along with details wether the site was allowed or blocked.
Log contains customer username, time and date, so this option can be used to analyze which web sites your customers visit and for latest antiterorism reports.

Antamedia HotSpot software have ability to track and block unwanted web sites. Web sites will be automatically blocked if specified keywords appear in url address. On this way you can prevent access to porn, warez and other web sites that do not comply with your usage terms.

Please specify keywords in the HotSpot software - Setup - Filtering - URL Filtering page.
